About Levittown, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in lower Bucks County, Levittown, PA is strategically located between Philadelphia and Trenton, New Jersey. Just 22 miles from downtown Philadelphia, Levittown enjoys the advantages of city access while maintaining a suburban lifestyle.
Levittown, PA was built in the 1950s as a complete community by William J. Levitt. Levitt is sometimes credited with being the creator of the modern American suburb based on his work in Levittown, PA and his preceding creation of Levittown, NY. His planned community included just six models of single-family homes built in a unique “assembly line” fashion. His communities were artfully planned in sections with curved roads and no four-way intersections to keep traffic slow. Levitt embellished his neighborhoods with parks, playgrounds, and pools and donated the land to build the neighborhood schools and churches. Residents of Levittown agreed to a set of strict rules for the privilege of living in the community. Among them were restrictions on hanging laundry and erecting fences. Levittown made the national spotlight when one of the homes was sold to its first African-American family in 1957. Daisy Myers became known as a sort of “Rosa Parks” of Levittown by refusing to leave.
Levittowners, as residents of Levittown are sometimes called, enjoy all four seasons with up to 10 inches of month snowfall in winter and temperatures in the 80s in summer. The town is home to the historic Bolton Mansion, believed to have been built in the 1680s, which offers historic tours and event hosting. Levittown has been host to the annual Buck’s County St. Patrick’s Day Parade for over 20 years.
