About Langhorne, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The borough of Langhorne, population approximately 36,000, got its start as a small crossroads community in the late 17th century. It grew into an important transportation and commercial center during the 1800s and later experienced rapid growth as it became a popular suburban destination for affluent Philadelphians.
Langhorne’s climate is seasonal with moderately hot summers, cold winters, and the occasional snowfall during the months of February and March.
There are several important historical sites located within the borough that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Signature House, built in 1783, is one of Langhorne’s oldest buildings. Constructed entirely of stone, it has six sets of signatures and dates carved into its exterior wall. Purchased by the Erhlen family in 1936, it was restored to its original state in 1943 and is presently occupied by members of the current generation Erhlen family.
Langhorne is also the site of the Historic Langhorne Library. Built in 1888, the red brick Victorian building of Gothic architecture was constructed on the site of what is now Maple Avenue and served the local community for ninety years. In 1977, upon the completion of a new, larger facility, the original library building became the headquarters for the Historic Langhorne Association.
Langhorne has much to offer in the way of family fun and entertainment. For kids of all ages, Sesame Place is a full-blown multi-featured theme park offering thrilling rides and attractions of both the wet and dry variety, fabulous musical and theatrical productions, and animated parades starring the characters from Sesame Street. It is a guaranteed good time for everyone!
